A YEAR IN REVIEW
As we mark the 63rd Anniversary of Chiro Philippines on January 10, 2014, we look back not only on the many years of forming a community of young people in the parishes but we also look at how we expressed our faith in God and service to others over the years.
In 2014, Chiro began its campaign to reach out to different communities in the Philippines by inviting children to share nutritious breakfast and some exciting games together. Chiro’s local groups went from mountainous areas to the city slums and partnered with community leaders for this project. The short time with the children hoped to make them feel that they are loved by God and that we too care for them.
This program aims to reach out to 10,000 children all over the Philippines until 2016.
As of January 2015, the different regions were able to serve nutritious breakfast to:
NORTH LUZON : 343 children
SOUTH LUZON : 1122 children
VISAYAS: 1048 children
MINDANAO: 62 children
TOTAL : 2,575 children
We aim to reach out and have more breakfasts this 2015.
Indeed it is a great way to celebrate another year of service to the Filipino children following the examples of Christ.
